Host City[]

The host city of the WCG 2011 Grand Final will be Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea. In bringing the Grand Final to South Korea after 8 years since 2003, WCG has made its final decision on Busan, which has been increasing its international reputation in opening many global events like film festivals and motor shows.[1]

Reactions[]

"Busan is expected to be the hub city of games and culture by bringing WCG along with G-star," said Nam-Sik Hur, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City. "We will do our best in welcoming the international delegates for a successful WCG 2011 Grand Final."

"WCG, an international game event, together with G-star will give Busan a great chance to grow as a game mecca," said Tae-Gun Seo, president of Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. "We believe WCG 2011 in Busan will be the greatest ever with the wholehearted support from Busan city," said Brad Lee, CEO of World Cyber Games, Inc.

Qualifications[]

Any nation may send up to three players for any individual (1on1) game and up to two teams for any team game. This is the only restriction, meaning that the United States may send as many players as Poland or Saudi Arabia or Thailand. The only other restriction is expense, some nations may have more funding available, some may choose to concentrate more players into fewer games; it is the national organizer's prerogative and WCG international often has no say in the matter.[6]

Most Nations will have a Starcraft 2 Qualifier. For more Information about these qualifiers, see the main pages for these qualifiers.
