The KT Rolster Arrows (KTA) are a Korean League of Legends team best known for competing in the premier OnGameNet tournaments and winning OGN Summer 2014. The parent organization, KT Rolster, is a multi-gaming organization originally founded in 1999 under the name KTF MagicNs. The organization changed its name to KT Rolster in August 2009. Along with their two League of Legends teams, KT Rolster Arrows and KT Rolster Bullets, KT Rolster also sponsors a well-known StarCraft II team.

History

Pre-Season 3

The KT Rolster Arrows League of Legends team was formed on October 10th, 2012 as KT Rolster A (KTA), when the KT Rolster organization sponsored Hiro, Vitamin, ReSEt, Zero, and Wall. With the exception of Zero and Wall, each of the players had already been veterans of the Korean OnGameNet (OGN) tournaments.

Season 3

KTA's first foray into major competition was OGN Winter 2012-13. The tournament format seeded each team into groups, in which the KT Arrows placed fourth out of six, splitting series 1-1 against all but one team. Given their top four finish, KTA entered the bracket stage of the playoffs and exited quickly against their sister team, the KT Rolster Bullets, after a 1-3 series loss. In OGN tournaments, teams that are eliminated before the semifinals must then compete in the NLB, where the KT Arrows were swiftly eliminated by MVP Blue for a 5th-8th place overall finish.

During the OGN off-season, support and jungle players Wall and ReSEt departed and were replaced by Me5 and then-unknown KaKAO, a transplant from the KT Bullets.

In April and May 2013, KTA competed in OGN Spring 2013. Despite a series win in a rematch against MVP Blue, the team met a disappointing end with three losses in the group stage. In the corresponding season of the NLB, the KT Arrows were swept by Chunnam Techno University, a challenger team that had not even qualified for the OGN. With only three game wins of twelve, KTA finished 9th-12th in the OGN season.

Determined to put its last place finish behind it, the organization dropped underperforming Me5, Vitamin, and Hiro, while moving KaKAO to KT Rolster B. Long-time OGN veteran MakNooN, along with rookies Lira, Sonstar, and Olleh joined the team as replacements. At that point, the KT Rolster organization renamed the team to the KT Rolster Arrows.

In the qualifiers for the upcoming OGN Summer 2013, the new roster of KTA met its demise 0-2 to unknown challenger team GOL. Soon after, the team entered the AMD-INVEN GamExperience tournament and again lost in the first round to a challenger team, this time VTG.M.

Before the qualifiers for OGN Winter 2013-2014, MakNooN left the team and the organization picked up AD carry Riris (now Clown), support Renewal (now Hachani), and mid laner Most 3 (now RooKie). In addition, top lane player ssumday moved from the KT Bullets to join the team. With its new roster, the team still lost in the tournament qualifier against Incredible Miracle 2, 1-2. Despite losing, KTA could then compete in that season's NLB, where they lost 1-2 to Samsung Galaxy Blue and received a 5th-8th place finish in the NLB.

Season 4

Before the next OGN season, the KT Arrows replaced Lira and Zero with Arrow of Xenics Storm and KaKAO, back from the KT Bullets. With its solid showing against a strong OGN team in Samsung Galaxy Blue, as well as the new roster changes, KTA entered the OGN Spring 2014 qualifiers with high hopes, winning a spot in the upcoming season. In the group stage, KTA finished first, with a massive 2-0 upset against defending world champions and OGN champions SK Telecom T1 K. The team was still unable to progress further, with a first round playoff loss to CJ Entus Blaze. In that season's NLB, the KT Arrows lost 1-2 to NaJin Black Sword and finished 5th-8th in OGN.

At the last OGN season of 2014, the KT Arrows won their group once more with a revenge sweep against CJ Entus Blaze. From there, KTA won three consecutive best-of-5's in the playoffs -- each in five games -- capping their successful run with a 3-2 series win against heavy favorites Samsung Galaxy Blue to win the OGN Summer 2014 title. With the convincing win, jungler KaKAO won the OGN Summer 2014 MVP award.

Although the KT Arrows won OGN Summer 2014, they do not have enough circuit points to automatically qualify for the Season 4 World Championship. Currently holding fourth place in the Korean circuit, they must compete in the Season 4 Korean Regionals against NaJin White Shield, KT Rolster Bullets, and the loser of the upcoming tiebreaker between SK Telecom T1 K and Samsung Galaxy White.
