Description

Lore: Once a criminal from the mean streets of Zaun, Vi is a hotheaded, impulsive, and fearsome woman with only a very loose respect for authority figures. Growing up all but alone, Vi developed finely honed survival instincts as well as a wickedly abrasive sense of humor. Now working with the Wardens of Piltover to keep the peace, she wields mighty hextech gauntlets that can punch through walls and suspects with equal ease.

Vi remembers little of her childhood, and what she does remember, she wishes she didn’t. Running with the sumpsnipe gangs, she quickly learned to use her wits, as well as her fists, to survive. Developing a thick skin was just as important, and everyone who encountered Vi knew her as someone who could punch or talk her way out of trouble. More often than not, she chose the former.

“Do you want a punch to the face or the gut? Wait, I got two fists, it can be both!”

Patch History

Patch Notes 6.5

E costs less and deals more damage.
Quote.png Picked for her ability to reliably dive priority targets, Vi’s been reliably warming the bench more often than not in 2016. Vi’s ganks have always been high-impact thanks to Vault Breaker + Assault and Battery, but it’s when she fails to convert those ganks into kills and objectives that the Piltover Enforcer finds herself in huge trouble. Compared to her peers, Vi can get out-paced pretty quickly - ‘high cooldowns and high mana costs’ don’t exactly combine for the fastest clear-speed. Pumping power into Excessive Force’s usability and output mean that Vi’s more comfortable when she’s forced to take a time-out and farm if the game isn’t going her way. Unquote.png
  • ExcessiveForce.png E - Excessive Force
    • COST: 60 mana at all ranks ⇒ 40/45/50/55/60 mana
    • DAMAGE: 5/20/35/50/65 ⇒ 10/30/50/70/90

Patch Notes 5.17
Passive cooldown lowered at earlier ranks

"Straight up - we’re playing it safe with Vi this round (due to how volatile the champion can be to balance), but we’re normalizing Blast Shield to be less dependent on specific break-points and more about level advantages. Basically, Vi should be rewarded more for having a good early-game with better ability to scrap folks (and mitigate jungle damage) so she can worry less about asking questions and more about throat-punching midlaners. Follow your dreams, Vi."

  • BlastShield.png Passive - Blast Shield
    • COOLDOWN: 18/13/8 seconds (at levels 1/7/12) ⇒ 18/17/16/15/14/13/12/11/10/9/8/8/8/8/8/8/8 seconds

Patch Notes 5.5
Movement speed down, R damage down at early and mid ranks.

"Known for punching first (and asking questions while punching), Vi's never been good about giving her opponents much of a chance to fight back. Being one of the toughest champions to peel (combined with devastating ganks) make fighting her feel stacked - so we're draining some power from these areas to even the odds."

  • General
    • MOVEMENT SPEED: 350 ⇒ 345
  • AssaultandBattery.png R - Assault and Battery
    • PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 200/325/450 ⇒ 150/300/450

Patch Notes 4.4
"Vi deals a lot of damage when building tanky and we want to incentivize her to go back to what she does best: punching things. The change to Assault and Battery gives a little more breathing room for her opponents between her oppressive early ganks while also giving foes more opportunities to capitalize on poorly planned ults."

Vault Breaker has a lower base damage now but scales better with AD. We also raised Assault and Battery's cooldown at early ranks and reduced the knockback duration and distance to secondary targets.

  • VaultBreaker.png Q - Vault Breaker
    • MINIMUM DAMAGE: 50/80/110/140/170 (+.7 Bonus Attack Damage) ⇒ 50/75/100/125/150 (+.8 Bonus Attack Damage)
    • MAXIMUM DAMAGE: 100/160/220/280/340 (+1.4 Bonus Attack Damage) ⇒ 100/150/200/250/300 (+1.6 Bonus Attack Damage)
  • AssaultandBattery.png R - Assault and Battery
    • COOLDOWN: 130/105/80 seconds ⇒ 150/115/80 seconds
    • KNOCKBACK DURATION ON SECONDARY TARGETS: 0.5 seconds ⇒ 0.25 seconds
    • KNOCKBACK DISTANCE ON SECONDARY TARGETS: 350 ⇒ 250
