Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi is the Head Coach for Vitality.

Biography

Jakob is from Västerås, Sweden. Before playing League of Legends he played high level World of Warcraft, Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2. In League of Legends, he has played on various teams as AP, Top, and AD. He is known as a very versatile player. He was the AD carry for Team Solo Mebdi. However, the team disbanded after three of its members were banned by Riot for exceptionally toxic behavior.[1]

2016
YamatoCannon joined Splyce in January 3rd. In his first split as Head Coach of the team, they finished 8th in the Spring Split. They, however, bounced back and re-qualified for the next split after beating GIANTS! Gaming in the Promotion Tournament. In Summer, the team finished 2nd in the regular split with a record of 9W-6T-3L, getting them a bye for the Semifinals. They then faced H2k-Gaming and won but lost to G2 Esports in the Finals, ending the split at 2nd place.

With enough Championship Points earned, YamatoCannon and team qualified for the Regional Qualifiers for a spot at the 2016 World Championship which they did earn after beating Unicorns of Love in the Final Round. At Worlds, the team was drawn to Group D, alongside Samsung Galaxy, Royal Never Give Up and Team SoloMid. They, hoever, ended their run at 13th-16th, as they failed to make it out of the Group Stage with 1W-5L.

2017
Splyce did not make any changes to their Coaching Staff and so he remained as the Head Coach for the team. With the new format for the 2017 EU LCS, YamatoCannon and Splyce were drawn in Group B together with Unicorns of Love, H2k-Gaming, Vitality and Origen. Despite the team's slow start during the beginning of the Spring Split, they still managed to make it to the Playoffs after finishing 3rd in their group with a 7W-6L standing. However, the team did not make it that far, as they were defeated by rookie team Misfits in the quarterfinals in a reverse sweep.

On April 17th, Splyce's CEO Marty Strenczewilk announced that the organization have mutually parted ways with YamatoCannon.
