Biography[]

Alberto "Crumbz" Rengifo is from Venezuela and currently lives in the United States. He began playing League of Legends in August 2010.

Season 1[]

In March 2011, Crumbzz joined the gaming clan DSO as their top laner. He left team DSO in mid April to join Team Godmode with h4ckerv2, illustrious3, kenikth, xxPhaxen, and samsterlicious. Crumbzz substituted for as the midlaner for Epik Gamer at IPL 3 on October 6 when the team's starting midlaner Salce was unable to participate. The team secured second place in the tournament, beating v8 Esports 2-0 and then Team SoloMid 2-1 before losing 2-1 to Team Dignitas in the finals.

Immediately after IPL 3, Crumbzz accepted an offer from Curse Gaming to become their new jungler, replacing Lapaka. With Curse, Crumbzz established himself as a top North American jungler. As one of the 8 teams invited to the MLG Providence qualifiers, Curse Gaming started off strongly by defeating Team Space Monkeys 2-0 in the Round of 32 and then Leaguecraft Gaming 2-0 in the Round of 16; however in the quarterfinals they once again lost to Dignitas 2-1 and were knocked out.

Season 2[]

In Season 2, Crumbzz along with Team Curse achieved multiple 5th/6th-place results at IEM Kiev and IEM Hanover, and then IPL4. In May 2012, Crumbzz announced that he was leaving Curse due to his inability to move into their gaming house.[12] Curse acquired Saintvicious from CLG as a replacement, and Dignitas's Voyboy moved to CLG; this left a space on Dignitas, and Crumbzz joined as their new toplaner, switching roles from jungle. Proving his ability to play multiple roles at a high level, Crumbzz helped Dignitas achieve a 3rd-place finish at the MLG Anaheim.[13]

Preseason 3[]

After I Will Dominate was banned from professional League of Legends play for one year and left Dignitas[14], Crumbzz switched from toplane to jungle on December 7th 2012.

Season 3[]

Dignitas ended the Season 3 NA LCS spring split season in third place, advancing to the playoffs but then losing 1-2 to Good Game University. They beat Team Summon in relegations and qualified for the summer split, where they finished fifth in the round robin and then fourth overall, avoiding relegation. They placed fourth in the summer playoffs.

Crumbzz was a member of the Season 3 World Championship analyst desk, along with Nien and ZionSpartan.[15]

2014 Season[]

Dignitas ended the spring split in fourth sixth place. In the playoffs, they lost to Team Curse in the quarterfinals and then beat Team Coast to avoid relegation. In the summer split, they placed sixth and then lost in the quarterfinals of the playoffs to Team Solo Mid 1-3; once again, however, they avoided relegation, this time beating CLG.

On July 15th, Crumbzz appeared on Summoning Insight and discussed the current state of Dignitas among other topics.[16] Crumbzz was also a member of the Analyst Desk at Worlds 2014 and on several occasions correctly predicted the underdog team to win despite the other three members of the desk disagreeing with him. As a result, the Worlds production team put together a video of Crumbzz dressed up as the wizard "Professor Crumbledore" predicting that Samsung White would win Worlds.[17]

2015 Preseason[]

Despite a rumor claiming that Crumbzz was retiring, on Friday October 24th, 2014 Dignitas announced that Crumbzz had re-signed with the team as their jungler and team captain after the expiration of his previous contract.[18]

2015 Season[]

In February 2015, Crumbzz stepped down from Team Dignitas.[19] He later formed a Challenger team called Misfits, along with Alex Ich and Remilia. RF Legendary and Intense later joined after a tryout.[20] Misfits won the AlphaDraft Challenger League and then participated in was the NACS Summer Qualifier, where they dropped only one game in their three series to qualify for the Summer Season. After qualifying, Misfits rebranded as Renegades.

Renegades finished the Challenger Series regular season with an 8-2 record and in second place, after losing a tiebreaker to Team Coast. However, in the playoffs, they defeated Imagine 2-1 and then Coast 3-2, sending them directly to the 2016 NA LCS Spring Season.

2016 Season[]

Renegades was faced with significant roster instability in the spring season, as first AD carry Freeze was unable to play for three games early on in the split, and then Remilia stepped down one game after his return. RF Legendary was also replaced by Flaresz for three games later on. After the seventh week of play, Renegades and Team Dragon Knights traded several players, with Seraph and Ninja joining Renegades as top and mid laner, respectively. Crumbz had also substituted for TDK in the final week of the NACS Spring Season. This roster for Renegades finally proved successful, but it was too little too late, and the team was only able to improve to 8th place in the league, after winning a tiebreaker against Team Impulse. In the Summer Promotion Tournament, Renegades beat TDK 3-0 and qualified for the summer season.

However, on May 8th, Riot released a competitive ruling stating that Renegades would be forced to sell their LCS seed due to multiple rule violations, and Chris Badawi would be permanently banned from "association or affiliation with any team or organization participating in a Riot-sanctioned league".[21] Crumbz departed the team a few days later and was named as a coach of Apex Gaming and their sister team Apex Pride. He also appeared on Riot's broadcasts frequently during the summer split.
