The 2017 Mid-Season Invitational is held between the first and second splits of all regions. All regions other than Korea, China, and Europe participate in the Play-In.

Format[]

Round 1
- Eight teams partcipate
- Two groups of four teams each
- Two seeds from Pool 1 and 2 seeds from Pool 2 in each group
- Double Round Robin
- Matches are best of one
- Winner of each group advances to Round 2
Rounds 2 and 3
- Four teams participate
  - Two directly seeded (North America and Taiwan)
  - Two advancing teams from Round 1
- Matches are best of five
- Winners advance to Main Event Group Stage
- Losers play each other
- Winner advances to Main Event Group Stage
