ahq e-Sports Club is an eSports organization based in Taiwan. Their League of Legends team was formed in September 2012.

Formation of ahq e-Sports Club

In September 2012, after Corsair failed to travel to Season 2 World Championship, ahq was forced to merged both Corsair and SSWIE and renamed to ahq e-Sports Club. UDJ, ArTie, Prydz, Mralbis from Corsair and GreenTea from SSWIE are the first line-up of ahq.

Season 3

In 2013, the captain UDJ retired and GarnetDevil joined. ahq e-Sports Club was invited to join Garena Premier League 2013 Spring Season to face 2 of the most famous teams in Taiwan and Southeast Asia, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. In March, 2 of the famous players, westdoor and Lantyr were forced to join ahq and became the main players of ahq. However, ahq still couldn't beat TPA and SGS. They finished GPL Spring Season in 3rd place.

Dominating GPL

In GPL Summer, ahq became stronger and stronger, they beat TPA and SGS multiple times and became the winner of GPL Summer by 24-4 record and advanced to the GPL Finals to face off the winner of Spring Season, Taipei Assassins. At the same time, ahq also joined TeSL and faced the other strong team in Taiwan, Taipei Snipers. ahq finished the tournament in 2nd place.

Although ahq had high hopes going to Season 3 World Championship, they were destroyed by the TeSL team, Gamania Bears which ended their run for Season 3 World Championship. However, ahq managed to beat TPA in 2013 GPL Finals, which ended their season.

Season 4

After Season 3, ahq acquired Naz from Wayi Spider while Lantyr moved to ahq Fighter and Garnetdevil became the starting AD Carry. ahq did a great job in 2014 LNL Winter, they won 20 matches and only lost 1 game. However, they aren't that successful for ahq in 2014 GPL Winter, they lost to Taipei Snipers and only reached the 3rd place.

From February to April of 2014, ahq was competing in 2014 GPL Spring, where they did great job in group stage with 9 wins and only 1 lost. They won against Singapore Sentinels and Saigon Jokers in Quarterfinals and Semifinals but lost to Taipei Assassins in the Finals, and got the 2nd place

From June to August of 2014, ahq took part in 2014 GPL Summer. They finished the group stage with 8 wins and 2 loss; beating Bangkok Titans in Quarterfinals; ahq Fighter (they were managed to face Full Louis but that team got disqualified from using under-17 players) in Semifinals; but once again, they lost to Taipei Assassins in the Finals, and got the 2nd place while Taipei Assassins became the champion and directly go to the Riot - World Championship 2014

Unable to be the champion of 2014 GPL Summer, but ahq are still going to Riot - World Championship 2014 as the #2 seed team of Taiwan & SEA region after beating Saigon Fantastic Five in 2014 Season Garena Regional Finals.

Pre-Season 5

After a disappointing run in the 2014 Season World Championship, ahq acquired Mountain and OhReaL from Logitech Snipers, Ziv from HK Attitude Mage, Albis from Logitech G Fighter, while Naz and GarnetDevil leave. Prydz became the analyst.

The new roster qualified for IEM Season IX - Taipei, where they won 2-0 against the Logitech Snipers, 2-0 against Hong Kong Esports, and 2-1 against the Yoe Flash Wolves in the winner's bracket finals. At IEM Season IX - Taipei, Ahq would receive a quarterfinal bye for winning the winner's bracket finals, but would then be defeated 0-2 by the Yoe Flash Wolves.[1]

Season 5

Season 5 marked the start of the LMS, a new league exclusive to teams from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao. ahq were invited to its qualifiers, where they went 3-0 in their group to earn a berth in the regular season. They finished in fourth place in the round robin, with a 13-8 record, but went on to win then playoffs with 3-0 victories over Hong Kong Esports and Taipei Assassins followed by a 3-1 finals victory over Flash Wolves.

Due to their spring split victory, ahq were invited to play at the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational. Finishing 3-2 in the group stage, ahq advanced to the bracket but were knocked out immediately by eventual tournament winners Edward Gaming.

After the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational, ahq went on to sweep their way through the Summer Season, with a win-tie-loss record of 11-3-0. Placed directly into the finals of the gauntlet-style playoffs, they once again won the season, this time beating Hong Kong Esports 3-0 and automatically qualifying for the 2015 World Championship.

At Worlds, ahq were seeded into Group B, along with Fnatic, Invictus Gaming, and Cloud9 and went 3-3, advancing to the playoffs after a tiebreaker victory over Cloud9 (giving the North American team their fourth loss in a row that day). Their World Championship run ended in the quarterfinals, where they were drawn against tournament favorites SK Telecom T1, earning a top 8 finish.[2]

Season 6

Season 6 was a very unstable season for ahq. Despite finishing the regular season in 1st place as 11 wins, 3 ties and 0 losses, ahq was defeated in an 0-3 sweep against the Flash Wolves in the finals of the 2016 LMS Spring Playoffs. This also meant they failed to qualify for the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational. The summer split of the LMS proved to be even more grueling for ahq as they would finish 3rd in the regular season as well as 3rd in the playoffs, losing 2-3 in a close semifinal match to the Flash Wolves. Despite their rough split however, ahq bounced back in the 2016 LMS Regional Qualifier and won both of their matches to qualify for the 2016 World Championship. At Worlds, they were drawn in Group C along with Edward Gaming, H2k-Gaming and INTZ e-Sports.
