|Leaguepedia To Host Best Lee Sin NA Tournament, Sponsored By Alienware!|
It all started in April, when Reddit hyped up some of the premier players' declarations; they would state that they were the better Riven player. We offered every player the opportunity to back up their claims by organizing the Best Riven NA Tournament. It was a 1v1-centric tournament that followed the double elimination format.
You were a passionate army of 150,000 League of Legends fans tuning into the tournament stream. You all saw MegaZero come back from losers' bracket and prevail. You were also sensitive to the charities the players supported and raised approximately $7,000.
You wanted more, we told you we would do more, and we have done more. We have been dilligently working on making sure you would have the time of your lives when the next tournament came around. We have sifted through many 1v1 champion ideas in order to find the right one for the next showdown. One champion caught everyone’s attention.
Lee Sin is one of the most (if not the most) complex champions in the game. He is known to be extremely fun to play and to offer the possibilities for massive plays at your fingertips, such as the InSec play during the AllStar tournament. He is the most open-ended champion. It will be a battle of wits and skill, and it will be in front of everyone to see. He is the perfect champion for such a tournament.
We hereby announce that the next tournament we are hosting will be the Best Lee Sin NA tournament, sponsored by Alienware. This means that we are upping the production quality and that there will be Alienware gear giveaways for random viewers during the event, in addition to our prize giveaways.
When will it be held? We will announce the date within the next few days as we settle for the right one. The Best Lee Sin NA will also include qualifiers which will be held to provide a chance for players who were not invited to the main tournament to contend for a wildcard position. One thing for sure, to guarantee professional player availability, the main tournament will occur after the Season 3 World Championships.
We are also gearing up for future 1v1 and 2v2 competitions. We are working on having the logistics set for EU-centric tournaments. Additionally, the logistics for 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments will be much easier to provide given the arrival of Magma Chamber by the time Season 4 starts.
