Samsung Acquires MVP Ozone, creates Samsung Galaxy Ozone

OLYMPUS Champions Spring 2013 Champions MVP Ozone have been acquired by Samsung to create Samsung Galaxy Ozone. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but OSEN reported the acquisition’s cost to be between $300,000 and $500,000. Said acquisition also included the MVP Blue squad.

The transaction’s timing was impeccable for both parties. Samsung solidified its presence in the Season 3 World Championship. In the process, according to Dade, the sponsor established “a perfect environment in which we [the players] can focus solely on gaming.” When asked about the deal, Homme stated: “We will do our best to live up to the expectations.”

Samsung's move leads them on the footsteps of Pringles and Nissan, two well-known corporations that invested on Gambit Gaming and Team Curse respectively. Combined with American Express’ recent partnership with Riot Games and the rapid rate at which the World Finals were sold out, the conditions are met for the League of Legends eSports scene to blossom even more.
