Today in LoL eSports (December 3rd, 2013)

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I am Adel Chouadria and from here on I will frequently be guiding you through the latest events surrounding the League of Legends scene. Whether it is the latest tournament news, rumors, or events surrounding the League of Legends scene, I will make sure you won't miss a beat of League of Legends action.

Tournament news

  • However, Pobelter, who was voted in for the NACL All-Star Game, did not participate in the exhibition matches. Brian “Guitar” Cordry, manager of Velocity eSports, announced that Pobelter would be scrimming with the team and would be unavailable to participate. Read the rumor section for more details.
  • Leaguepedia and XDG Gaming are organizing a 2v2 fundraiser tournament in an effort to help charity efforts in the Philippines. The community was invited to vote on every pairing from a pool that consisted of Cloud 9, Dignitas, XDG, and an All-Star group made of five substitute / high elo players. You can check out the schedule and the specifics here!
  • OGN The Champions Winter will switch to the Pre-Season 4 Patch on Wednesday, December 3rd. Viewers will be able to discover how Korea adapts to the 2014 season. “It will be weird and wild,” comments MonteCristo, OGN caster and CLG coach.

News around the scene

  • Millenium's roster is no more. Dioud, ShLaYa, ImSoFresh, Nanouk, and Doigby parted ways, as the roster did not reach it's LCS Qualifier objective. The organization may court LCS prospects The Fox Sound, known to have one of Millenium's former subs, Shaunz, in their lineup.
  • Two years after the departure of their marquee lineup to Moscow 5, Team Empire has returned to the League of Legends scene. The new roster, formed to compete in the CIS region, will be tested in the TechLabs Kazakhstan tournament on December 7th.
  • Team WE, the Chinese team that wreaked havoc in pre-Season 3, may be disbanding. This Reddit post reveals that Caomei and Misaya may retire. In addition, two players may be following their coach out of the team (FZZF and ClearLove). This comes after a string of performances that saw Team WE fail to qualify for the Season 3 World Championship. Stay tuned for more updates.
  • Meanwhile, Dexter has officiated his departure from the Lemondogs organization through Facebook. Lemondogs, the second ranked team in the EU LCS, suffered a mass exodus on the onset of Bjergsen's departure from NiP. The only player remaining on the Lemondogs roster is Tabzz, and Dexter assured the Dutch AD carry that he had plans. Best of luck, Dexter and Tabzz!

Rumors: All Aboard the EG.na Train... or not?

  • Guitar, manager of Velocity eSports, stated that Pobelter will be scrimming with the team which leaves him unable to participate in the NACL All-Star match. The team, as seen in this video, is comprised of InnoX, Krepo (who is confirmed to be the alias "MockingBeard") and two unidentified players. However, as per the 2014 season, the rules will change to restrict teams to one owner per LCS team, as expressed by J.T. “Riot Tiza” Vandenbree. If Alliance is owned by EG's ownership, the chances of a Velocity-to-Alliance buyout are null and void.
