Jonathan "Grig" (▶️ listen) Armao is a League of Legends esports player, currently jungler for Dignitas. He was previously known as Grigne.
Biography[edit]
Jonathan "Grig" Armao began his competitive career in late 2014 with COGnitive Gaming, in the NACL New Year's Kick-off Tournament. After being eliminated in the third round of the loser's bracket to Zenith eSports, the team disbanded. Later in the 2015 season, Grig substituted for Hard on Cloud9 Tempest in League One. His next team was Team Liquid Academy, which he joined in May, along with Youngbin and Matt. The team played in the NACS 2015 Summer Qualifier but were eliminated by tournament favorites Misfits, who went on to become Renegades, in the semifinals of their bracket. Grig left the team in August and was replaced by Dardoch.
2016 Season[edit]
Grig was brought in as a substitute player for Echo Fox in Week 2 of the NA LCS Spring Split, when starting jungler Hard was unavailable to play due to visa problems.
Trivia[edit]
- Frequently rumored that Riot forced him to change his original summoner name Grigne due to the letters forming a racial slur in English when rearranged.
- However, Grig has stated that the name change was voluntary and that he got his original name from a World of Warcraft random name generator when he was 8.[1]
