Karmine Corp is an organization founded by popular French streamer Kameto and influencer Prime. They were previously known as Kameto Corp. They are more commonly referred to as KCorp.

The organization quickly gained popularity among the French community and has now acquired one of the largest fanbases in France and French-speaking countries. Though they started out in League of Legends, KCorp has as of 2022 rosters on a number of other games, namely Valorant, TFT, Trackmania, Rocket League and Smash Bros Ultimate.

History[]

2021 Season[]

Spring Split[]

Karmine Corp rebranded from the name Kameto Corp after qualifying for the LFL (League of Legends French League) from the second division. The team acquired a brand new roster composed of: Adam, Cinkrof, Saken, XMatty, and Targamas, with only Adam being kept from their previous iteration in second division.

The team quickly rose to recognition, consistently finishing in the top 3 after each week, and even ending the regular season in first place after securing a tiebreaker win over Misfits Premier. Already qualified for the playoffs finals, they dominantly defeated Misfits Premier 3-0 to win the season, their first trophy, and secure the LFL first seed for European Masters.

European Masters Spring[]

Going into EUM, Karmine Corp were seen as favorites to win the tournament. They dominated their group, with a score of 6-0, and even secured a 17 minutes victory over FC Schalke 04 Evolution. They faced SAIM SE SuppUp in the quarterfinals and UCAM Esports Club in the semifinals, with both series being close and ending in the maximum number of games, but Karmine Corp still secured 2-1 victories over these teams. KCorp then faced BT Excel in the finals, who they had previously beaten 2-0 in group stage, and with a score of 3-1, the organization won their first European Masters trophy in front of more than 370,000 viewers, an all-time record for the tournament, and an all-time record for a French League of Legends esports broadcast.[1]

Summer Split[]

Following the exposure the team got during European Masters, Adam was recruited by Fnatic in the LEC and Cabochard was selected to replace him as the new top laner. Despite the roster change, Karmine Corp carried their momentum from EU Masters into the summer split, they dominated the whole regular season, being consistently in first place from beginning to end. Once again receiving a finals bye, they faced Misfits Premier in finals for a spring finals rematch, but this time they fell short, losing the series 3-1, they then went to European Masters as LFL 2nd seed.

European Masters Summer[]

KCorp were largely favorites in their group and ended up being first place with a score of 5-1, dropping only a single game to LVP first seed Vodafone Giants. In the quarterfinals they faced once again UCAM Esports Club, but this time quickly defeated the team with a final score of 3-0, and advanced to the semifinals. There they faced Prime League first seed BIG which opposed great resistance by taking the first and fourth game, but KCorp still won the series 3-2. In the finals they faced Fnatic Rising who just defeated favorites Misfits Premier. Karmine Corp took a lead in the series by scoring the first two games, but were in a dire situation when Fnatic won the two following games, thus tying the series. After a largely one-sided ame 5 where KCorp took an early lead and managed to snowball from it, they secured the series and avoided the reverse-sweep. They became the first organization to win EUM twice and the first organization to win EUM back-to-back.

2022 Season[]

Spring Split[]

Following the departures of Cinkrof, XMatty, and Targamas for LEC teams, the structure acquired jungler 113, support Hantera, and in one of the most mediatized roster swaps of the offseason, ADC Rekkles.

The team had a rough first three weeks, placing at 8th place with a result of 2-4 before Week 4. KCorp managed to secure a 2-0 week in front of an audience on occasion of the LFL Days being played offline at a venue for this week, and carried the momentum for the rest of the regular season where they ended up 2nd and were already qualified for European Masters.

Facing LDLC OL in their first playoffs match, they fell short losing 3-0, and in the loser bracket, KC also lost to Team BDS Academy 3-1, still qualifying for European Masters play-ins.

European Masters Spring[]

As expected, Karmine Corp easily advanced through the play-in stage, dropping no games and heading to the main event.

They were seeded with tournament contenders NLC first seed X7 Esports and Prime League first seed GamerLegion. They suffered a harsh defeat in their first group stage game against X7, failing to secure a single kill. However, they bounced back to win all five of their remaining games, including a tiebreaker against X7, to secure first place in the group.

In the quarterfinals, they faced Unicorns of Love Sexy Edition, who took Game 1, but KCorp swept the next three games to advance to the semifinals. They then faced Vitality.Bee in a heated and intense series that initially went 2-0 in Vitality's favor. However, KCorp managed to win Game 3 and use the momentum to complete the reverse sweep and advance to the finals. They finally faced off against LFL champion and tournament favorite LDLC OL, losing Game 1 but winning the next two games to secure a 3-1 victory. Karmine Corp once again broke records by becoming the first organization to win the tournament three times, and they also won it back-to-back-to-back.

Summer Season[]

The team had high expectations heading into the summer season, but their performances declined throughout the season. They barely secured a playoff spot, but fell in the first round to GameWard 3-1, thus failing to qualify for the European Masters for the first time in the team's history.

2023 Season[]

Spring Split[]

Coming into the 2023 season, KCorp released their jungle and bot lane duo, signing Skeanz, Kaori, and Whiteinn. Cabochard and Saken remained on the team. The roster failed to perform to expectations, consistently occupying the bottom places of the league and missing playoffs for the first time in the team's history.

Summer Split[]

Following the failure of the spring season, KCorp released their bot lane duo and moved Skeanz to a substitute position. They acquired young promising talent Caliste and welcomed back their 2021 jungler Cinkrof and support Targamas.

The team had much better results throughout the season, scoring a seven-game win streak over four weeks and securing first place in regular season. During regular season, rookie Caliste performed really well, even under pressure, with the team securing two wins in front of more than 1,500 KCorp fans during LFL offline week.

The team was seen as the favorite heading into the playoffs. In their first round, they faced BK ROG Esports and defeated them 3-1. They then met them again in the finals, this time quickly sweeping the series with a score of 3-0 to be crowned LFL champions for the second time after LFL 2021 Spring, Karmine Corp will then return to the EMEA Masters after two splits of absence.

EMEA Masters Summer[]

Karmine Corp got through the group phase with some difficulty, losing twice to Macko Esports and once to Nativz, securing its playoff place in a tie-breaker.

They were drawn to play against Istanbul Wildcats in the quarter-finals, who were seen as the tournament favourites. But the series was dominated by KCorp, who defeated them 3-0 in very clean fashion.

Then in the semi-finals they met Team GO, who had been on a roll throughout the tournament so far. The series was heated and went back and forth, but in the end Karmine Corp took over with a finale score of 3-2 and were headed to Montpellier in front of their audience for the finals.

There they met Movistar Riders, LVP's first seed who had convincing performances in their side of the bracket. KCorp opened the series with two very convincing games and getting a headstart of 2-0. But Movistar won the two following games tying the series at 2-2 and giving the audience the silver scrapes. The final game was heated with both teams winning teamfights but KCorp managed at some point to create a lead and took over the grand finals securing their 4th EMEA Masters trophy in front of about 10,000 of their fans in Montpellier.
