Biography[]
Born in Den Bosch, The Netherlands, Kirei started playing games at the age of 7, playing Counter Strike: Source, World of Warcraft, and Guild Wars 2 before moving on to League of Legends.
2014 Season[]
Towards the end of the season, Kirei joined LowLandLions.White.
2015 Season[]
With LLL.White, Kirei qualified for the EUCS Spring Season via the EUCS Spring Qualifier after the team beat Different Dimension in their bracket final. The Spring Season was successful for the team, finishing in 2nd place. At this point, the team left the LowLandLions organization. In the Spring Playoffs, they beat Gamers2 before joining Copenhagen Wolves to form Copenhagen Wolves Academy. They went on to lose the final to Origen, meaning they would play in the EU LCS Summer Promotion. In the Summer Promotion, Kirei and the team were beaten by Team ROCCAT. Soon after, Copenhagen Wolves Academy disbanded.
Part-way through the EUCS Summer Season, Kirei replaced betongJocke as the jungler for Denial eSports EU, with his predecessor coming back to sub in for the team later on in the season when Kirei was temporarily unavailable. The Summer Season itself was successful for Kirei and the team, finishing in 3rd place. In the Summer Playoffs, they were beaten in the semifinals by Team Dignitas EU before losing to Gamers2 in the third-place match, meaning they would not have a chance to qualify for the LCS.
Kirei and the team then participated in PGL Legends of the Rift - Season 1, where they managed to top their group. Shook subbed in for Kirei during the playoffs of the tournament.
2016 Preseason[]
In November 2015, Kirei moved from Europe to North America to join Team Dignitas as part of their line-up for the NA LCS 2016 Spring Season.[44]
2016 Season[]
Following two 1-1 weeks at the start of the season, top laner Smittyj was removed from the team's starting roster and replaced by BillyBoss, due to "behavioural issues".[45] The team's worst-ever split unfolded following this change, as they saw only two further wins and – after playing the longest game of the split – finished 10th place with a 4-14 record. The same roster played in the Summer Promotion tournament, where they lost 0-3 to Team Dragon Knights, resulting in their elimination from the LCS. This made Dignitas the first of the three original North American LCS invitee teams to be relegated from the competition.
In May, Dignitas transferred its NACS Summer Season seed to Apex Gaming, and all players left the team.[46] Kirei returned to Europe to play for Epsilon eSports in the EUCS.
Trivia[]
- Enjoys sports and eating sushi.
