The 2021 Latin America League (LLA 2021) Opening Promotion would have seen the 7th and 8th place teams from the 2020 LLA Season defend their spots from the top teams from Regional Norte and Regional Sur.
The Opening Promotion is typically held after the LLA Closing Season, before Worlds begins, but was postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, and rescheduled to take place in October 3-4, 2020.[1]
The 2021 LLA Opening Promotion was officially cancelled in September 30, 2020, with the teams involved being reseeded to compete in the LLA 2022 Opening Promotion.[2]
On November 29, 2020, Riot Games announced the acquisition of Pixel Esports Club's spot by Estral Esports for the LLA 2021 Season, adding that Estral Esports won't have to play the 2022 Promotion Tournament.[3][4]
