The March Matchness 1v1 Invitational Powered by Alienware is a 24 player invitational single elimination tournament that pits the best solo queuers and streamers around to see who has what it takes to be #1. Watch as the best of the best battle it out for their share of a $4,000 prize pool! The March Matchness tournament also gives you a chance to get into the fun with a contest to see if you can predict the winners of the matches! Correctly complete the “perfect bracket” and you’ll win your share of $1,000.

Brackets and Matches

  • Group Stage.
    • Top 2 of each group move on to Top 8 Single Elimination bracket.
  • Bracket Stage.
    • Single Elimination with a third place match.
    • Matches will be best of 3 until the finals which will be best of 5.
    • Matches will be Blind Pick with 6 chat bans (3 for each player) before champion select.
  • There will be 3 bans for each player (done in Summoner’s rift style of alternating).

The following is how the top two from the Group/Promotion Stage will be seeded into the Bracket Stage.

  • A1 vs D2
  • B1 vs C2
  • C1 vs B2
  • D1 vs A2

Winning Conditions

  • First Blood.
  • First Turrent.
  • First to 100 CS.

Map Rules

  • You must go to the mid lane.
  • Jungle and side lane minions are off limits (If you purposefully farm jungle/side lane minions you will be DQ’d that game).
  • You may go into the river and jungle area near mid during fights, but as stated above you cannot kill minions.
  • You are allowed to go back and buy at will.


  • Being 15 minutes late past your estimated round time will mean you are DQ’d game 1.
  • 30 minutes past and you forfeit the match.


  • If you disconnect within the first 2 minutes you may call for a restart.
  • If you are having technical issues let an admin know.

Miscellaneous Rules

  • You may not stream your games on your personal streams.

Prize Pool

$4,000 USD (Approximately € 2,925 EUR) is spread among the teams as follows:

Curse reserves the right to change or update these rules at any time, at the discretion of event admins. Also all infractions or violations not listed specifically here will be punished at the discretion of event organizers and may include, expulsion from the event, reduction of prize money, or any other actions the admin sees fit.
