Biography[edit]
Nukeduck is a League of Legends player hailing from Arendal, Norway. He first started playing Super Smash Bros Melee. He would move on to playing World of Warcraft, Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) but was not able to speak English back then (which hindered his chances at going further).
Early in Season 1, his floorball coach introduced Nukeduck and his friends to League of Legends. The Norwegian player had a lot of fun due to playing with them constantly, and he stuck to LoL ever since (unlike his friends).
After a Platinum rank finish in Season 1, he meteorically rose through the solo queue rankings, as his champion pool was well adapted to the Season 2 meta. Playing against the same people made him enjoy the game, just as he used to enjoy it when playing with his friends. He teamed up with puszu and MeDroiD on his first team. Competitive gaming made him step up as he would play against better players as his trials would shape his playstyle.
Nukeduck qualified to the Season 3 World Championship with his team Lemondogs, finishing 2nd in the Summer Playoffs. However, he moved to Ninjas in Pyjamas alongside mithy and Zorozero on the wake of Bjergsen's departure to Team SoloMid. As the team failed to hold its relegation spot against KMT, he participated in the Challenger Series.
On March 28, 2014, Nukeduck was fined $500 USD for using offensive, racist language in a League of Legends game lobby.[34]
On June 6, 2014, Erlend Våtevik Holm was Suspended from the League Championship Series and the Challenger Series through the end of 2014 due to extremely toxic behavior in solo queue. This behavior included, but was not limited to, in game harassment, verbal abuse, and general toxicity.[35]
2015 Preseason[edit]
On December 9, 2014 Nukeduck's ban was lifted by Riot, leaving him free to play in the 2015 LCS and Challenger Series.[36]
At the start of the season, Nukeduck joined Team ROCCAT. The team had an unsuccessful LCS Spring Split, finishing the regular season in 8th place, which meant that they would play in the Summer Promotion. Here, the team faced Copenhagen Wolves Academy and came out victorious, securing their spot in the Summer Split.
The Summer Split itself was far more successful for Nukeduck and the team, finishing the regular season in 5th place partly thanks to Nukeduck's impressive performances on a range of champions. This meant they would qualify for the Summer Playoffs, where the team were beaten in the quarterfinals by Unicorns Of Love, meaning that they would pick up 20 Championship Points and go on to play in the 2015 Season Europe Regional Finals. Team ROCCAT went on to lose to eventual qualifiers Origen in Round 2 of the gauntlet.
2016 Season[edit]
Nukeduck left ROCCAT in December 2015 and joined Team Vitality, a French organization that expended into League of Legends by purchasing Gambit Gaming's LCS slot. With himself, Cabochard, Shook, Hjärnan, and kaSing comprising the roster, the team was considered one of the top lineups in the LCS, and they finished the split in third place, behind the surprise first-place G2 Esports and second-place H2k. In the playoffs, however, they were upset by the sixth-place Fnatic and eliminated in the quarterfinals.
