Alexander "OPAL" Archambault is a League of Legends esports personality, currently caster for the PCS.

Biography[edit]

Alex Archambault know by his casting handle as OPAL is multi genre shoutcaster from Calgary, Canada. Originally he went by the handle OPL until 2018 when he changed it to match how it was said on air and to avoid confusion with Riot’s Oceanic Pro League. Opal started casting with League of Legends shortly after being introduced to the game in season 3 at local tournaments in his city and online with amateur run tournaments such as Compete League. In 2017 he would start casting the North American collegiate scene with AVGL, which resulted in his first show outside of Canada at Dreamhack Denver 2017.

In early 2018, Opal began operating the Unofficial English Broadcast which covered the LPL days the official English team in Shanghai could not cast due to the regions massive schedule demand. The broadcast still runs today operating as a real time simulation and practice tool for casters online looking to cover competitive matches in front of a live audience for feedback alongside a producer.

Opal currently lives in Shanghai, China working for FunPlus Esports as an English Shoutcaster & Producer.
