Later, he was the second pick in the 2017 NA Scouting Grounds tournament draft, drafted to the Cloud9-sponsored Team Cloud Drake as the second pick. Despite his team finishing last in the short event, League was chosen by Cloud9 as the first draft pick at the end.

Shiro remained with Cloud9 Academy for the 2019 season. Prior to the season, he changed his ID again, this time to Kumo. Cloud9 Academy continued to be a dominant force in the North American academy scene, finishing first in the regular season and second in Playoffs. Kumo and the rest of the academy roster even had the chance to start in the LCS team's final game of the LCS 2019 Spring, a game that they won. However, in the NA Academy 2019 Summer, Kumo shared time with Jukes and only played in five games. However, he also had the chance to substitute for Licorice for four games of the LCS 2019 Summer, due to Licorice's wrist injuries. Kumo performed well on the LCS stage, winning three of the four games and solo killing Impact. Kumo returned to the starting role of Cloud9 Academy during the Summer Playoffs, but the team was eliminated in the semifinals.
