Yu "Happy" Rui (Hanzi: 喻瑞) was previously a bot laner for Newbee. He was previously known as Peco, TnT, and several other names.

Biography

The first team Happy joined was Team Livemore but he left at the start of January 2013. In that same month, he joined LMQ. The team played in the LPL but showed poor results. Happy moved to Royal Club in October 2013 and stayed with the team for several months. In February of 2014, Happy transfered to Vici Gaming. He played for them until the end of 2014. Happy was picked up by Qiao Gu Reapers in January of 2015. The team finished 3rd in the 2015 Demacia Cup Spring Season, losing to Team WE 2:3 in the 3rd place match. Qiao Gu managed to get 1st place in the 2015 LSPL Spring Playoffs, defeated Vici Potential Gaming 3:1 in the finals and auto-qualified for the 2015 Summer Split of the LPL.

The team had an impressive first split in the LPL. They finished in 2nd place during the regular season with 7 wins, 14 draws and only 1 loss. In the playoffs, Qiao Gu was able to reach 2nd place and only fell to LGD Gaming 2:3 in the finals. This meant that they had to play in the 2015 Regional Qualifiers for a chance to qualify to Worlds. Invictus Gaming proved to be Qiao Gu's undoing and defeated them 2:0 in Round 1 and 3:0 in the Loser's Bracket. As a result of this, Qiao Gu was unable to qualify for the 2015 World Championship.

Despite not qualifying for Worlds, Qiao Gu attended IEM Season X - Cologne and defeated Team Dignitas and Fnatic to reach the finals. They however lost to a surging ESC Ever 2:3 in the finals which ended their run at the tournament in 2nd place. Soon after the event, the team was picked up by Newbee but they would remain as Qiao Gu Reapers instead of re-branding. QG went on to attend the IEM Season X - World Championship but had a poor showing, lost to Fnatic 1:2 in Round 2 of the Loser's Bracket and finished 5th/6th.

The 2016 Season of the LPL started well for Qiao Gu. They wend undefeated in the first 4 weeks of play and won 7 Bo3 matches. They only dropped a single game. The remaining 6 weeks didn't go as well for them as they lost 5 series matches and only won 4. Despite their poor second half of the regular season, the team still finished 1st in their group and was automatically placed in the Semifinals. Their playoff run would not last long however. Qiao Gu was plagued with internal conflict. The team tried to bring back Dade to their line-up and play with him as starting mid laner but this was denied by the League of Legends Association of Chinese Esports. Their substitute mid laner Mortred suffered a hand injury and their other mid laner Borisal was unable to attend. Qiao Gu forfeited their Semifinal match vs EDward Gaming as they were unable to field a mid laner. The team was able to play in the 3rd place match with Peco as starting mid laner but they were swept 0:3 by Team WE. In May 2016, Qiao Gu Reapers renamed to Newbee.[1] Happy also renamed to HappyY at this time. The team had a rough time and finished 5th in their group with 5 wins and 11 losses. They also attended the 2017 LPL Spring Promotion and lost 1-3 to LGD Gaming but defeated Star Horn Royal Club 3-0 and re-qualified for the LPL.

In the 2017 LPL Spring Season Newbee finished 4th in their group with 6 wins and 10 losses. In their playoffs run although they defeated Invictus Gaming 3-1, team lost 0-3 to EDward Gaming in the Quarterfinals. In the 2017 Demacia Cup they finished 13th-20th after a 1-2 loss to Young Glory. Their summer season in the LPL went similar to their spring run and HappyY renamed back to Happy. The team placed 3rd in their group with 9 wins and 7 losses. In the playoffs they swept Snake Esports 3-0 in the first round but then got swept themselves 0-3 by Team WE in the Quarterfinals. In December of 2017, Happy retired from competitive play.[2]
