Calum "Trajan" Macdonald is a League of Legends esports personality.
Biography[]
Calum first entered Esports in 2017, working as freelance league operations for ESL UK at EGX. Over the next two years, he worked several more events for ESL UK, including VR Leagues and the PBG Global Invitational EU Qualifier. During a 3-month stint interning in China in early 2018, he signed on with Team Liquid as a Discord Community Manager, remaining for 6 months, whereupon he joined ESL UK full-time as a Finance Associate. It was the start of 2019 when he began casting, initially as a Colour. After working with various European amateur leagues, he joined the NUEL Summer Split 2019 broadcast.
Shortly afterwards, Calum transitioned to the Play-By-Play role, casting exclusively with the Square One Championship until its dissolution in mid-2020. Following a relocation from Leicester to Aberdeen, coinciding with his departure from ESL UK and joining Promod Esports as a Finance Controller, he continues to operate as a freelance Play-By-Play.
Trivia[]
- Calum previously cast under the pseudonym "CJ", that being what he often goes by in real life. The nickname was given to him by his father, and was used in Primary School to help differentiate between the four 'Calums' in his class.
- Calum signed his first official Esports contract digitally, 1800 metres above sea level in a Taoist temple on the slopes of Mount Qingcheng in Chengdu, China.
