Unofficial World Champion
Some sports (e.g. boxing and chess) have world championship by succession. Imagine that being applied to League of Legends. Tied matches don't result in transfer of "championship". If a team disbands while holding the championship title, the title passes to its previous owner. Prior to 2014, events had to be played live or at a LAN and broadcasted on-location to count towards the ranking. Starting in 2014, premier events and their qualifiers are counted; this change in rule is due to the increase in overall stability of the scene.
