Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I am Adel Chouadria and from here on I will frequently be guiding you through the latest events surrounding the League of Legends scene. Whether it is the latest tournament news, rumors, or events surrounding the League of Legends scene, I will make sure you won't miss a beat of League of Legends action.

Tournament news

CJ Entus Frost punched their ticket to the IEM Singapore Finals in a convincing 2-0 over the Saigon Jokers. MaKNooN's Ziggs play carried his teammates in Game 1, and MadLife's world-famous Blitzcrank undid the Jokers in Game 2. They will face off against Invictus Gaming.

Invictus Gaming gave no quarter to the Taipei Snipers with a 2-0 sweep as they advanced to the IEM Singapore Finals. Their siege composition in Game 1 allowed them to control the map and slowly snowball the game in their favor. Game 2 was a different story, as iG Zzitai owned Summoner's Rift.

In the World Cyber Games, yesterday's quarterfinal matchups shared a common trait, as all of the matches ended with a 2-0 score. Lyon Gaming collides with CJ Entus Blaze in their bracket semifinals as we speak. On the other side of the brackets, a Chinese showdown of epic proportions will take place between OMG and Team WE, who prevailed against Energy_Pacemaker.HK and yoe Flash Wolves, respectively.

The Garena Premier League group tiebreakers will feature two matchups that will determine the group seeding orders, as they infer with the bracket stages. ahq e-Sports Club will take on the Taipei Assassins for Group A supremacy, and the Taipei Snipers take on HK Attitude for Group B's first place. Mineski vs Saigon Jokers (Group A) and Full Louis vs Singapore Sentinels (Group B) determine 3rd and 4th place of each group.

The DreamHack Winter Finals will feature SK Gaming and Kiedyś Miałem Team. Yesterday, KMT dispatched LowLandLions 2-0, and SK barely pulled through against GodBro's Intellectual Playground 2-1. This game may have repercussions on SK's choice of opponent come Season 4 Promotion Tournament, as KMT may be one of the options available to them.

The Season 4 Spring Promotion Qualifier Semifinals are on the way! Three NA teams will qualify to the online round-robin, joining COGnitive, To Be Determined, and compLexity. As for Europe, two teams will join the Copenhagen Wolves, TCM-Gaming, KMT, and Salade Tomate Oignon.

CJ Entus Frost's mid laner, MakNooN, stated his “hatred” of Sjokz in his IEM postgame interview.

In a late EU Challenger roster shift, Eternity Gaming acquired the roster of RoughNeX, and Pulse eSports acquired the roster of Heroes Team. On the other hand, the previously reported Astana acquisition of Kiedys Mialem Team fell through at the eleventh hour, and eSuba's roster disbanded.

Alex Ich is not attending the Tencent Gaming Carnival for health reasons. The Russian mid laner will miss the event due to treatment in relation to a surgery made after last year's IEM Hanover. We wish him all the best and hope he can have a speedy recovery!

Tabe, the support player who reached the Season 3 World Finals as a member of Royal Club Huang Zu, has been banned from contributing to Chinese eSports organization L.ACE, effectively banning him from the eSports scene. Tabe famously retired to become a video content maker, as it pays far more than a progamer areer. He was very vocal about the iffy state of progaming in China.

Openly stated rumors

Kev1n is currently trying out for Team Alternate. As of late, he has been streaming from ATN's gaming house. Is there a roster shakeup in the horizon? What does that mean for Kerp, the current top laner? This saga may continue in a future article.

ATN Olly's now-infamous Reddit post stated that Dexter may join Counter Logic Gaming. He also stated that the Evil Geniuses roster could probably feature Shook, Wickd, Tabzz, Nyph and Froggen, although Nyph played for SK Gaming at DreamHack yesterday.

The bomb, however, was ATN Olly's statement in the same Reddit post: “I guess that's officially the end of EG as we know it!”. He talked about an eventual Evil Geniuses / Alliance purchase of Velocity eSports's LCS Qualifier spot, and the transfer of Snoopeh, Krepo, and Yellowpete to said team. However, EG Snoopeh was not impressed by that eventuality.
