Gamescom is a trade fair for video games held annually at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.
The League of Legends portion of Gamescom 2013 was held at Hall 8 of the Koelnmesse.[1]
Overview[]
This year's Gamescom will contain three different League of Legends tournaments. First of all, the EU LCS Playoff will be played, six teams will fight for $ 100,000 and 3 seeds at the Season 3 World Championship. Furthermore the International Wildcard Tournament is held at Gamescom. The top five teams from regions without a LoL premier league are fighting for the wildcard seed of the Season 3 World Championship. Last but not least there will also be the final stage of the 5v5 Ranked Qualifier, granting a seed at the Season 4 LCS Spring Promotion tournament.
sjokz is hosting the tournaments and doing post-game interviews. The games are cast by Joe Miller, Jason Kaplan, Deman, Qu1ksh0t, Kobe and Jatt.
Format[]
International Wildcard Tournament[]
- Five teams from regions without premier leagues
- Winner gets a seed at the Season 3 World Championship
- Round Robin format, the top 4 teams advance to semifinals
- Semifinals and Finals are Best of 3
Season 4 Spring Promotion Qualifier[]
- Four teams from 5v5 Ranked Online Qualifier
- Single Elimination
- All matches are best of three
- Winner gets a seed for the Season 4 LCS Spring Promotion tournament
European LCS Summer Playoffs[]
- Top 6 teams of the Summer Season attend
- Grand Finals are best of five, all other matches are best of three
- Top 3 teams get a seed at the Season 3 World Championship
