Biography[]
2015 Season[]
Kim "TML" Han-gi competed with Xenics in the Champions Summer Promotion Tournament, but the team went 0-2 in their group, losing to both Samsung and Prime Clan and did not qualify. He then left to join Energy Pacemaker.Carries and played a few games in the LSPL Season and then the Spring Relegation Tournament, where the team successfully requalified for the 2016 LSPL.
2016 Preseason[]
After the LSPL Relegation tournament, TML returned to Korea and joined Ever for the 2016 LCK Promotion Tournament but was once again unsuccessful at qualifying for Champions. After the Promotion Tournament, TML renamed to Key, and Ever picked up two new players - former KT Rolster jungler Ares and AD carry LokeN. With this line-up, Ever played in the KeSPA Cup, where they shocked audiences not only advancing to the semifinals with victories over Samsung and Anarchy but then upsetting SK Telecom and CJ Entus in back-to-back sweeps to win the entire tournament and secure Korea's only seed to IEM Season X - Cologne. Key himself was recognized for his Bard play and earned the MVP award for the tournament.
At IEM Cologne, Ever once again showed a strong performance, first beating the European representative H2k in the semifinals and then winning the finals 3-2 against the Chinese Qiao Gu.
2016 Season[]
During the preseason, allegations had arisen that Key had engaged in Elo boosting activities.[24] The allegations were never proven, and no official action was taken against him, but Ever took their own disciplinary action and sat him out for the first 12 games of Challengers Korea.[25] Totoro started for the team in his place.
At the time of competing at IEM Katowice (which they had an invitation to due to winning IEM Cologne), Ever were in second place in Challengers, after losing a series 0-2 to MVP. Despite a round-one surprise upset win over Team SoloMid, Ever lost to Royal Never Give Up and then a rematch series against TSM to be eliminated before the playoff bracket.
After coming back to Korea, ESC Ever continued to perform well in the Challengers Korea 2016 Spring Season, finishing second place in the regular season with 27 pts. After beating Ever8 Winners 3-1, they beat MVP 3-2 to win the season and earn a spot in the 2016 LCK Summer Promotion. Then, they beat SBENU Sonicboom 3-0 to earn a spot in the 2016 LCK Summer Season.
During the 2016 LCK Summer Season, ESC Ever went 5-13 in total sets, with one notable upset victory over SK Telecom T1. Key shared the starting support position with Totoro. However, they still finished the split in ninth place, leading them to participate in the 2017 LCK Spring Promotion tournament. In the first round, they beat SBENU Korea 2-1 before falling to Kongdoo Monster 3-1. In the deciding loser's match, ESC Ever swept CJ Entus to earn their spot back in the LCK.
