Biography[]
His passion for gaming started at a young age when he played games such as Super Mario, Zelda, and Super Smash Brothers on the SNES and Nintendo 64. He and his brother got the latest generation consoles to play games until I Am LOD felt that offline play wasn't enough. That was when he found League of Legends and began to play casually. He met the player Stonewall after reading his guides on GameFAQs and began playing with him and attributes much of what he learned about the game to Stonewall.
On October 27th 2014, it was announced that LOD was leaving Coast along with Santorin; they were replaced by Jesiz and Impaler.[29] The stated reason for his departure was that he was looking for other NA LCS options.
2015 Season[]
LOD joined Cloud9's new Challenger roster Cloud9 G2A along with Solo, Yusui, Hard, and Stixxay in January 2015. Under the name C9 Charlies Angels, they placed fifth in the ranked 5's ladder leading up to the NACS Spring 2015 qualifier. Following Stixxay's move to CLG.Black, Fade joined the team, replacing Stixxay as starting support. The team defeated Roar and then Team Confound to qualify for the season. However, prior to the start of the season, it was revealed that the team had used a ringer in their matches against Team Confound. As a result, Cloud9 Tempest were disqualified from participating in the NACS, and Team Confound took their place. Additionally, LOD and his teammates were all suspended from all Riot-sponsored League of Legends competition until the 2015 Summer Split.[30] This ban was lifted at the end of March, allowing LOD and his Cloud9 Tempest teammates to play competitively starting on May 11th.[31]
Now unbanned, Cloud9 Tempest participated in the NACS Summer Qualifier, with nearly the same roster as they had competed with in the spring qualifier, except that LOD moved to AD carry, and Sheep joined as support. After their first two rounds, Yusui was temporarily banned for four weeks for purchasing botted accounts, and Jintae was used as a substitute for the finals against CLG Black, which the team won, successfully qualifying for the Summer Season.
The team finished with a 5-5 record and in fourth place. In the playoffs, they also finished fourth, after losses to Renegades and Team Imagine. They missed out on the Summer Promotion Tournament but retained an automatic seed into the NACS Spring 2016 Season.
2016 Season[]
After the conclusion of their 2015 season run, Cloud9 Tempest disbanded. LOD briefly joined Top Dog Gaming in November, but left the team just two weeks later. In December, LOD renamed to Benjamin and joined Ember, who acquired Cloud9 Tempest's spot in the NACS Spring 2016 Season.
Ember finished second in the regular season, with a 3-1-1 record. Additionally, LOD substituted for three LCS teams - Team Dragon Knights, Echo Fox, and NRG. Due to jungler Contractz's ineligibility to play in the promotion tournament, Ember signed Santorin as a substitute starting with the NACS playoffs. They lost in the first round to Team Dragon Knights. After their failure to qualify for the LCS, Ember released all of their players except for Contractz, and LOD left the team.[32]
In May 2016, LOD joined Team EnVyUs, who had acquired Renegades' spot in the NA LCS. Despite having multiple substitutes on their roster, EnVyUs started Seraph, Procxin, Ninja, LOD, and Hakuho for the entirety of the split. Fueled by strong practice going into the season, EnVyUs started out 4-0 in series records after two weeks, sharing first place with Team SoloMid. However, in the weeks that followed, they slipped down the standings all the way to sixth place, where they sat from week 6 through the end of week 9. With the bottom seed into the playoffs, EnVyUs faced Cloud9 in the quarterfinals where they pulled out a game 1 comeback win before losing the next three to be eliminated. In the Regional Finals, EnVyUs defeated Team Liquid's new roster with Arcsecond jungling but then lost to Cloud9, who went on to win the gauntlet.
