Overview[]
The 2017 EU League Championship Series is the fifth season of Europe's fully professional League of Legends league. Ten teams will compete in a round robin group stage, with the top 6 teams continuing to offline playoffs.
Format[]
- Two groups of five teams each
- Top two teams according to 2016 Season Championship Points are placed in separate groups
- Remaining 8 teams are distributed to the groups via snake draft
- Each team plays 13 matches.
- Double Round Robin within own group
- Single Round Robin against other group
- Best of 3
- Show Tiebreaker Rules
- Top 3 from each group qualifies to the playoffs
- Group winners receive playoff byes into the semifinals
- Fifth-place teams play in Summer Promotion
