Steelwolves Gaia is a professional league of legends team representing the "City of Smiles" which is Bacolod City. The team was formed when Joseph "Aermudilos" Solidum decided to scout talented players during local tournaments. He saw potential on an amateur team called "Shico Gaming" which was formed on January 2018, to which he recruited them under the Steelwolves eSports organization. The original line-up for the team was Chalice7, Act, Pain, Mish, and Sly but was later changed with the addition of Azure and Meng.
History[]
Following the Lenovo Legion of Champions Season III finals, Steelwolves Gaia competed against ArkAngel for a spot in the Grand Finals. Unfortunately, after a gruesome 5 game matches Steelwolves Gaia lost to ArkAngel with a 2-3 score.
Joseph "Aermudilos" realized that the synergy and individual talents of the players is something that can be polished into a dominant team. Joseph "Aermudilos" Solidum financed the team, and later on was supported by Jan "Dredd" Vincent Filiu, the owner of Steelwolves, Mervyn Garcia and Dusty Mijares. With sufficient necessities provided, the team practiced everyday and experimented on unorthodox strategies.
Steelwolves Gaia qualified for the Philippine Pro Gaming League 2019 but lost to TNC Predators and Imperium Pro Team on the group stage. As a young team, competing against former top teams in the Philippines in a short amount of time motivated the players and the staff to fully commit and aim for the top as well.
Steelwolves Gaia was then invited for the League of Legends SEA Tour 2019 national qualifiers and completely dominated their group with an impressive standing of 5-1, only losing to Hey Gaming in the first game after an unfortunate comeback.
